This is a quick review
Day after day the privacy becoming more important and more personal, unfortunately Microsoft and many other OS doesn’t provide an easy way to protect and restrict access to your secret or very private files. Folder Latch is a program to protect your confidential data with packing and encryption the folder within easy steps.
After you locked the folder the folder will be protected and prevented from accessing to it unless you enter valid password. Folder Latch is compatible for all Microsoft OS (Windows 9x, ME, 200x, XP and Vista)
With Folder Latch you can protect any folder up to 4 GB (Folder/Files must have "Full permission" rights to avoid from protecting other's folder.
Folder Latch is multi language program, you can translate the program to your language easily.
Folder Latch previously distributed as freeware, but we couldn't support volume download and high traffic, so we added new options and improved the speed with better security. the cost of this new version will help us to improve and continue to support this product.

Folder Latch 10.0.4.5 is a program that protects folder in your drives by locking them with a password.
This program was previously named Folder Locker, the authors had to change it for name conflict reasons.
In the opening screen, the programs asks you if you want to lock or unlock folders. It also warns you that you may lose your files if the folder size is more than 4 Gb.
You should not try to protect Windows System folders, Documents and Settings or current user folder. It´s better to protect a copy of the files to protect, so you won´t lose them if anything goes wrong.
In order to protect a folder, you must have full permission to the folder and all it's subfolders/files, otherwise you will not be able to unlock that folder.The files must be closed when you lock them, for the same reason,
When locking a folder, you must select it, then verify it, select a password and verify it, and input a security question, for using in case you forget the password (optional). The program will tell you the size of the protected folder. You can choose to use Extreme Protection (this way the folder will be unrecoverable with undelete programs) and verify that is not already protected.
Pressing the "Protect" button, the program will protect the folder. The protected folder name will be the folder name followed by an underscore, a point and the extension "sbx".
If you try to access the protected folder, the program will ask you the password. Is it´s right, it will create an unprotected folder with the contents of the protected one.
Then it will erase the protected folder. |
